Jean Audouze (astrophysicien, directeur de recherche émérite au CNRS, Président d’Honneur de la Commission Nationale Française pour l’UNESCO, Président de « Terre de Montaigne »), en partenariat avec la Société d’Histoire et d’Archéologie de Saint-Emilion. Quelle sont les procédures d’inscription au Patrimoine Mondial ? Quelle est la place de la France par rapport à celle des autres pays membres de l’UNESCO ? Quelles sont les inscriptions possibles dont la France pourrait bénéficier à l’avenir ? Autant de questions qui seront abordées lors de cette conférence.

11:00am: «UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites», by Mr Jean Audouze (astrophysicist, Director of Research Emeritus at the CNRS, Honorary President of the French National Commission for UNESCO, President of «Terre de Montaigne»), in partnership with the Société d’Histoire et d’Archéologie de Saint- Emilion;
What are the procedures for World Heritage inscription? What is France’s position in relation to that of other countries that are members of UNESCO? What are the possible registrations that France could benefit from in the future? These are all questions that will be addressed at this conference.
5:00pm: Round table discussion on the challenges of World Heritage listing, in the presence of representatives of other listed vineyards (Burgundy, Loire Valley, High Duro, Tokaj), Saint-Emilion and Catherine Arteau, President of the Terroirs - Cultural Landscapes Foundation.
The listed wine-growing areas are living and evolving sites at the crossroads of many questions: the evolution and protection of landscapes, architecture, the transmission of properties and know- how, the reception of an increasing public at a time of environmental concerns.

12:00pm: Exceptional screening of the documentary film «The Apocalypse». Painting the text of the Apocalypse of Saint John, what a challenge and what a job...! François Peltier has accepted this challenge by Father Eymeric de Rozières for the cloister of the collegiate church of Saint-Emilion. 17h00 : Table ronde sur les enjeux de l’inscription au Patrimoine Mondial de l’Humanité, en présence de représentants d’autres vignobles inscrits invités (Bourgogne, Val de Loire, Haut Douro, Tokaj), de Saint-Emilion et de Catherine Arteau, présidente de la fondation Terroirs – paysages culturels.
Les sites viticoles inscrits sont des biens évolutifs et vivants au croisement de nombreux questionnements : l’évolution et la protection des paysages, l’architecture, la transmission des propriétés et des savoir-faire, l’accueil d’un public en augmentation à l’heure des préoccupations environnementales.

Peindre le texte de l’Apocalypse de Saint Jean, quel challenge et quel travail...! François Peltier a accepté de relever ce défi posé par l’abbé Eymeric de Rozières pour le cloître de la collégiale de Saint-Emilion.
