Hear what Geana has to say
These days, we all want to know where what we purchase has come from and to understand the manufacturing process. We also want to buy as locally as possible. Geana is a designer who has clearly understood this and made transparency and fairness her number one concern, seeking to rethink the entire textile production and consumption chain.
All her filters are created by professionals: farmers, millers, weavers and sewers, all passionate about their work.
Made in the USA: from sourcing through to manufacture.
The cotton she uses to make her coffee filters is grown organically at cooperatives in Texas and woven in South Carolina. She works directly with farms and factories to ensure every step of the process is both sustainable and ethical. Geana has chosen a human-sized workshop, employing just six people, which allows her to closely monitor the production of her filters and have a clear understanding of the working conditions.
She uses no insecticides, herbicides, pesticides
or dyes, for a fibre fully compatible with coffee preparation.
In addition to satisfying her concerns about the planet, Geana is fiercely committed to social investment. She donates 3% of her sales to organisations involved in protection of civil rights, integration of marginalised groups and environmental concerns.
 Make time, consume better.
By producing items that remind us of the need to slow down, Geana hopes that people using her EBB filters will develop a clearer understanding of the impact of their consumption and make firmer commitments in their daily lives.
